In 1988 in Mountain View, California a lab inside of a shipping container inside of a warehouse, being run by William Leonard Pickard and Clyde Apperson was seized along with 34 grams or 340,000 hits of Lysergic acid diethlyamide or LSD. Leonard was the only one arrested relative to the lab because Clyde was not there during the bust. Clyde was the setup and take down guy whom was also a clandestine chemist who produced synthetic mescaline “larger than any crystals on record” Pickard received the maximum state sentence of five years. No production figures were estimated by state or federal authorities. Later in life pickard went on to produce 2.2 pounds of LSD every 5 weeks. If anyone wants to know more or anything don’t hesitate to ask this is probably one of my most favorite and most well informed topics!
